For one reason or another, Farmtown defaults to planting your crops with a space between each plowed plot. This breeds inefficiency in your farming operation and, in my opinion, looks bad. However, if you plant your crops closer together you can not only have larger harvests without buying more land, but you can have more room for houses and other farm decorations.
As you can see from the picture on the right, the cabbage on the top is planted so close together that you cannot see spaces in between them. On the other hand, the peas planted on the bottom have the space between each one. How did I do this?
For some reason, Farmtown defaults to putting this space between crops yet allows you to remove it. I believe it should be the other way around but that is neither here nor there. In order to remove it:
- Click on the picture of the wrench in the top right toolbar for the Preferences menu.
- Check the box that says, "Remove spaces between fields.
- Click the green checkbox.
- You will need to bulldoze your fields before you plow them again in order to put them closer together.
